Things to Know About the Dreaded Bedbugs
When bedbugs invade your home they are very nasty, and no one wishes that this would happen to them. The bedbugs are very common in our homes, but not many people can tell much about bedbugs despite the fact that they can invade your home anytime without even you noticing. This is the reason why it is important to be educated and informed about what you should look out for or the ways that you can prevent the bedbug invasion in your home in the first place.
They are brown, and they are oval. Due to their small and flat shape the bedbugs can hide just about anywhere in your house and can fit in very small gaps, just the size of business cards. Like with majority of other bugs they reproduce by laying eggs. They are capable of laying hundreds of eggs in a lifetime. Because the bedbugs produce many eggs they can grow their population fast, and by attracting just a few bugs into your house, your home can end up having a serious infestation, and this is attributed to their fast nature to reproduce.
Bedbugs normally shed their skin as they grow; they shed their outer shell like five times in the process of a bedbug maturing to its full size. Before the bedbugs sheds off its shell they have to eat first and when they are enlarged their skin will come off. One of the ways that you can notice the bedbugs in your home is through the debris they leave on your beddings after eating blood and shedding off the outer skin, and so be on the lookout.
The bedbugs love darkness and feeding on blood, and this is one of the reasons why you will find them mostly on the bed cracks. They will pierce the skin of the human they are feeding on and then they will use their skinny, straw-like mouths to draw blood. They will continue sucking blood from your skin until when they are full. After the bedbugs bite you they leave your skin with a very irritating itch and when you notice this you have to cross check to confirm if your home is under invasion. Despite the fact that they are not known to cause any diseases apart from the people who are allergic, they will spread very fast and can cause a lot of stress because of your body itch due to the scratches
Your home not being clean might not necessarily be the reason why your home can be under bedbug invasion.
Some of the ways that you can bring bedbugs home, include the furniture which you might buy and bring home and even through luggage after a vacation and stay in hotel where there are bedbugs. They will spread from one room to the next and also to the neighboring properties by simply crawling.
After realizing that you have unusual bites on your skin, confirm with other members of your house so that you can establish if the bites are from bedbugs.
